East Rock Park

Connecticut Botanical Society

East Rock Park is more than a dramatic cliff with wonderful views of New Haven, and more than a peaceful respite or a prime birdwatching spot. Relatively unknown are its botanical riches; in the middle of intense urbanization, East Rock is an island of native trap rock vegetation that is usually found only on the larger, more pristine ridges to the north, east, and west.

This will be a short, easy walk mainly on a paved road.
