Artie Hill, Company Manager

Artie is excited about working with the Festival of Arts & Ideas because it brings her back to the field of arts and culture which is one of her passions.  Artie started her career as an events coordinator for a Virginia non-profit that produced festivals and events, including a 2-week summer music festival, then worked as an event manager at a convention center before taking time to raise her family.

A graduate of Hampton University in Hampton, VA, Artie earned a BA in Mass Media Arts.  She also attended the Public Assembly Facility Management School at Oglebay in Wheeling, WV.  Artie is a freelance consultant who has planned and coordinated a variety of events for clients, friends, and family.  She enjoys bringing people together for a good cause and/or a good time, so the Festival is a perfect match.

Artie is an active member of the Hartford Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., an associate of the Greater Hartford Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc, and a member of the Worship and Arts Ministry at Shiloh Baptist Church in Hartford.  In her free time, Artie loves to practice yoga, walk with friends and her dog, play Scrabble (WWF and Wordle!), thrift shop, travel, and chill with her husband, Darrell, and their kids when they’re home.
