This discussion, led by Brilliant Boba, a team composed of storytellers, artists, and educators in New Haven, will provide attendees with creative resources that build intercultural empathy and social emotional skills. Particularly now, when hate crimes against Asians and Asian-Americans have hit their highest levels in years in the wake of COVID-19, these skills are vital as we move forward. A national and international dialogue has unfolded around issues of racism, representation, and identity within the Asian community, but misunderstandings and questions abound, especially for young people who are navigating a world where no clear-cut answers exist. It is a particularly good event for young people and those who mentor and teach them.
