I describe myself as a freewill dancer because when I dance, it helps me express myself, and it helps me keep my mind in tact. I feel relaxed when I dance. I have been dancing since I was eight years old; I learned while watching music videos and television.

I chose dancing because I was inspired by a lot of people, such as my mother, who loves to praise dance (a type of worship). My cousin likes to dance to hip-hop and that’s how I became interested in dancing to hip-hop. When my family and I used to live in New York, my mother and I did a lot of performances such as step team and praise dance.

I feel that dancing is a part of me, like something connected to me by a piece of string. As I dance, I hope my movements let people know that this is what I love to do.

Growing up in the church and doing things like being in the youth choir, then later the church choir, inspired me to want to be a gospel singer. My sisters and I have our own singing group and have started to make a CD. Our biggest goal is that our CD will bless people’s hearts and that we’ll tour the world ministering the gospel about Jesus Christ.

My sisters and I practice all the time, which helps to improve our voices; we love singing gospel. We choose to sing gospel because we’ve grown up being Christians and it’s all we listen to -- well, most of the time.

We currently still sing at different places and churches. I’m even a part of my school’s chorus (Lyman Hall). I hope to achieve many of the goals I have with singing and also become better at what I do.
