Visionary Leadership Award Luncheon

Honoring 7th annual honoree, Majora Carter

Join us on Wednesday, January 25th for the 7th annual Visionary Leadership Award Luncheon and Conversation. The Award Luncheon, which draws over 400 attendees from across the region, raises money for the Festival's diverse roster of programming presented in June each year. The award which was established in 2010 in honor of Festival co-Founder Jean M. Handley, is awarded to a Visionary Leader whose trailblazing work is impacting the world. This year's award will be presented to revitalization strategy consultant, real estate developer, and Peabody Award winning broadcaster Majora Carter.

Majora has set new standards of excellence with projects in her South Bronx community, while expanding her reach through philanthropic pursuits and business interests that have all pointed toward greater self-esteem and economic potential for low-income people everywhere.
