We are the German Interns who are staying here for 3 months. During this time we want to support the staff in arranging the International Festival of Arts and Ideas in New Haven.

We arrived in the United States on Saturday, May 30th and started working on Monday, June 1st.

Carolin Ungericht is helping Karen, Jean, Laura and Tori in the Development Department.

“I support the staff of the development department by preparing the VIP sections. We arrange the VIP tent on the Green, set up chairs in the VIP area and offer snacks and drinks to those people. So we want to offer the VIPs a great and enjoyable experience at the Festival and say thank you for their donations.”

Sarah Vogt is working in the Artist Services Department, and takes care of the artists:

“I am preparing the trailers for all of the artists who are performing on the Elm Street Stage or the Family Stage. For example, I make sure that they have enough and clean towels and water bottles every time.

One very interesting job before the Festival started was building the big face board with all the stuff of the festival. This was a great chance to know all the people. I’m feeling a little bit sad because of my bad English. It’s a big handicap in communicating and knowing other people. So I find it hard to go up to someone else.”

We hope that we can relieve the staff in the office and be a great help!
