Highlights include tabling from community partners who serve the disability community, the demonstration of a smart home, food trucks with accessible accommodations, speakers and conversations. Join us!

Calling all families! Come celebrate International Make Music Day with members of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra in a fun performance on the New Haven Green. No special musical talents required, but the experience will be super interactive. You may have a chance to conduct, to direct the volume of the music, or to affect the speed of the professional musicians. A great way to get everyone involved in making music.

Learn about honey bee biology, the importance of pollinators, and taste our local honey. We’ll also suit you up and open a honey bee hive together! This includes checking to ensure the queen and colony is healthy, feeding, and treating for pests as needed. Make sure to wear socks and closed-toe shoes!

There will be a 4 day film screening of the Ten Years, a series which started in Hong Kong and extended to Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand. The series invites directors and viewers to envision and reimagine the future of their own environments. Attendees will participate in a talkback with Yale-China Artist Fellow Kit Hung immediately following the screening. The Ten Years screenings at the Festival are sponsored by the Council on East Asian Studies at Yale and the Council on Southeast Asian Studies at Yale.

PechaKucha, in which performers tell a story on a subject of their choosing in a unique presentational format, began in Tokyo in 2003, and has captured the imagination of storytellers and audiences throughout the world. Show up and learn several new things very quickly!
