Have you ever visited a wildlife refuge? Join us for a day of fun activities as we explore the Outer Island Unit of the Stewart B McKinney NWR. We will explore local wildlife and the outdoors while learning about the Service, our urban partnership, and how you can get involved in conserving our public lands. This event is sponsored by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and The Friends of Outer Island.
Notes: This is a trip where we will explore the outdoors on the island. Everyone should expect to be outside most of the trip. Parents are expected to supervise children. There is an outhouse/rustic setting. The ferry will leave in a 15-20 minute window of the departing time.
Rule: Whatever you bring on the island, you must take back. (including trash!)
What to Bring: Long pants to protect against ticks, lunch and plenty of water.
