Monica Peterson

Storytelling

After a year in isolation, I believe that there will be a greater appreciation of community, truth, and love. By sharing stories from around the world, we connect with a worldwide community, and we can experience truth and love in our hearts, rather than just understanding it intellectually.

Storyteller Monica Peterson creates an immersive experience using costume and props. Audiences can select the story she tells from her repertoire of fabulous folktales from around the world. Enjoy magic and humor in a Danish troll’s cave. Laugh at the antics of West Africa's trickster spider Anansi or the gigantic pumpkin Feegbah. Celebrate Ireland’s fairies and giants. Journey with a group of animal friends in a Native American creation story. Ride with American teenage patriot Sybil Ludington (the female Paul Revere). Save English farm animals from a fox. Travel with a brave Japanese woman to the center of the world.

Storyteller, Monica Peterson has entertained at the JFK Presidential Library, The Children's Museum of the Arts in Manhattan, New Britain Museum of American Art, Connecticut DEEP Great Park Pursuit, Connecticut Storytelling Festival and at festivals, museums, libraries, schools, and senior centers throughout the area. She also performs as half of the duo, The Amazing Math Wizards. In addition, Monica can be seen in An Immigrant’s Story with the theatrical troupe Themselves and in A Celtic Celebration with acclaimed harpist Wendy Kerner.
