Jamiah Green

2020 Fellow

Jamiah (she/her/hers), is an upcoming Creative Writing Senior at Coop High School, as well as a freelancer for the New Haven Arts Paper and a Secretary for the Ignite the Voice: Youth Advisory Board. Being one of the Fellows in the 2020 Arts and Ideas Fellowship Program, Green’s goal that she has reached was being able to have her voice heard in the topics that have been discussed during the classes, elaborating the fact that the program was similar to her initial thoughts about it. For a little bit of background, one of Green’s favorite songs is “Brown Skin Girl” by Beyonce, and during her freetime, she likes to write, have fun with family and friends, and plan strategies for her future, such as college. Green is very passionate when it comes to writing articles and poems, and wishes to become a Professional Writer, a Journalist, and a Family Lawyer in the future, following the inspiration of wanting to always help others and create a platform for those that wish to speak up about the issues in our
 community.
