Experience the vibrant energy of Sol and The Tribu in this electrifying performance captured live on the New Haven Green. This innovative group of Cuban musicians blends traditional Caribbean rhythms with modern technology and American swamp funk, creating what they proudly call the "New Miami Sound."

Led by Grammy-nominated international recording artist and multi-instrumentalist Sol Ruiz, the seven-piece band draws from a collective of more than 20 musicians and creatives known as the Tribu Collective. "Tribu" means tribe—a fitting name for an ensemble dedicated to celebrating Miami's rich cultural diversity and the magic that makes it "The Magic City."

Sol Ruiz, a Miami native who sings and writes in Spanglish, has toured extensively across Europe, Canada, and the Caribbean, and was a featured performer in an indie opera produced by the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Beth Morrison Projects. The band's 2020 EP Positive Vibration Nation, created during the pandemic, delivers an uplifting message of resilience and hope that perfectly captures the group's spirit. Sol and The Tribu also received the Arsht Center's Heart of Art commissioning award for their viral "Corona Conga Online" video.

Witness the infectious rhythms, cultural fusion, and pure joy that defines Sol and The Tribu's groundbreaking sound—straight from the 305 to the New Haven Green.
