Backyard Beekeeping 101

Learn about honey bee biology, the importance of pollinators, and taste our local honey. We’ll also suit you up and open a honey bee hive together! This includes checking to ensure the queen and colony is healthy, feeding, and treating for pests as needed. Make sure to wear socks and closed-toe shoes!

Huneebee Project

Huneebee Project is a non-profit social enterprise that provides local youth with transferrable job skills training and employment opportunities, while simultaneously installing honey bee hives and pollinator gardens in community spaces.

NOTE: Participants will need to sign liability waivers to participate. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian, or have a guardian complete a hive-check waiver prior to the visit. You must wear socks and closed-toe shoes.
